Forces loyal to Libyan strongman General Khalifa Haftar are reported to have bombed densely populated residential areas in the capital, Tripoli.
Video clips circulated on social media showed the forces randomly shelling residential areas, south of Tripoli.
Meanwhile, a member of the Libyan Presidential Council, Amari Zayed said the indiscriminate shelling of residential neighbourhoods in Tripoli is another war crime committed by Haftar.
He added that the Libyan government will defeat Haftar militarily and try him in international courts; pointing out that the shelling of residential areas in the capital is revenge after one of his Air Force’s fighter jets was shot down on Sunday.
Abdulrahman Al-Hamdi, the mayor of Busslim, south of Tripoli, said one person was injured from the shelling, Libya Al-Ahrar news channel reported.
