A Shia clergyman was killed in an armed attack in Iran’s northwestern Hamadan city, according to a security official on Saturday, reports Anadolu Agency.

Hujjat-ul-Islam Mustafa Ghasemi, 46, was shot dead while leaving a local madrasah, an Islamic religious school, Bahsh Salih, head of the provincial police department, told local media.

There was no claim of responsibility for the attack. Police launched an investigation into the incident.
