Israeli forces arrest Palestinian youths [Najeh Hashlamoun/Apaimages]

Prisoners Information Bureau said yesterday that the Israeli courts issued 31 administrative detention orders against Palestinian prisoners from Ramallah, Quds Press reported.

In a report, the bureau said in a report that 11 orders were issued for the first time and 20 received renewed administrative terms.

Administrative Detention

    It is the arrest and detention of individuals by the state without charge or trial. It is applicable on a renewable six-month term.

The report noted that Ramallah is the second largest Palestinian city in relation to the number of Palestinian prisoners under administrative detention.

According to NGOs, there are 5,700 Palestinian prisoners inside Israeli jails, including 48 women, 230 children, 500 under administrative detention and 700 who require medical care.
