The formation of a coalition government in Israel led by Benjamin Netanyahu will be at the expense of the occupied West Bank, Israeli broadcaster Kan reported yesterday.
Kan said that the Union of the Right-Wing Parties and the Likud are laying down a term in the coalition agreement including the annexation of parts of the occupied West Bank.
According to Kan, the talks are revolving around annexing the major illegal Israeli Jewish settlements, but it was agreed that this term would remain general to allow room for maneuverability.
The Israeli broadcaster said that the two sides started these talks after Likud agreed on proposals put by the Union as part of the deal to form a coalition government.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is thought to be willing to accept their terms in return for immunity from possible corruption charges which threaten to end his time in office.
