The Iranian army yesterday unveiled a new Damavand long-range air defence system.

The army displayed dozens of reconnaissance and attack drones and electronic warfare systems, during a military parade held in the capital, Tehran, on the Iranian Army Day.

The army said the new system is capable of intercepting and destroying different types of aircraft, ballistic missiles, and cruise.

For his part, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani stressed that the country’s military institutions, including the army and the Revolutionary Guards, are more professional today than ever before.
