The government of the occupied Gaza Strip is “fully” committed to providing for the security and safety of all foreigners residing in the enclave, the Ministry of the Interior announced yesterday.

Iyad Al-Bazm, the ministry’s spokesman, said the safety of the international institutions’ staff, including the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) members, is “our responsibility.”

“The police and security services are carrying out their duties to ensure their safety and the continuation of the work of these institutions without hindrance,” he stressed.
