Gaza held its first rowing race using small fishing boats and not the normal vessels used in such competitions due to limitations from the siege.

Men and women competed in the one-kilometre doubles race and 250 metre singles race held by the Federation of Rowing Boats in the Gaza Strip.

The siege on the enclave, imposed by Israeli occupation forces since 2007, meant that rowing boats were unavailable, instead competitors used lightweight small fishing boats to take part in the race.

Water skiers and surfers also provided a display of their skills during the event.
