Palestinians should 'decide their own fate', Kuwait says

Kuwait’s Deputy Permanent Delegate to the UN Bader Al-Munaikh [Kuna]

Palestinians have the right to “decide their own fate”, Kuwait’s Deputy Permanent Delegate to the UN Bader Al-Munaikh said yesterday.

According to the official news agency KUNA, Al-Munaikh told a UN General Assembly session that Palestinians have “full-fledged” political rights to determine their own fate. UNRWA, he said, has been exposed to a “political attack” that has put in jeopardy its core objective. This, in addition to the coronavirus pandemic, has impeded the agency’s aid work, KUNA reported Al-Munaikh saying. Kuwait will continue to support UNRWA in its mission, he added.

He also reiterated the “inalienable right” of the Palestinians to an independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital, based on 1967 borders, as supported by UN resolutions.
