Kuwait’s Ministry of Interior has expelled two Egyptians after interrogating them in the case known as “Hezbollah financing”, Al-Rai newspaper reports.
According to the paper, the deportation of the Egyptians was carried out after an investigation was carried out and it was deemed the “in the public interest” that they be forced out of the country.
For nearly two months, Kuwait has been interrogating 23 detainees in total accused of working for the Lebanese Hezbollah.
Kuwait designated Iran-affiliated Hezbollah as a terrorist organisation in 2016.
Last month, prosecutors in Kuwait also detained 18 people suspected of financing the powerful Shia Lebanese group.
