Syria regime storms Palmyra, arrests men wanted for compulsory service

The Military Police of the Syrian regime stormed residential neighbourhoods in the city of Palmyra, east of Homs Governorate, on Saturday and arrested dozens of young men wanted for mandatory conscription.

The raids focused on the Jamiat neighbourhood where a number of the wanted young men live.

A similar raid campaign was carried out in the neighbourhoods of Al-Bayada and Deir Baalba in the city of Homs, which resulted in the arrest of about 25 young men, while others escaped.
