Morocco’s former Prime Minister, Abdelilah Benkirane, was transferred, on Wednesday, to a military hospital in the capital, Rabat, after contracting the Coronavirus, local media reported.
“Benkirane is in good health, and he was taken to the hospital for regular tests related to his infection with the coronavirus,” his personal assistant, Farid Titi, said on Facebook.
According to Titi, Benkirane is well and the infection is no cause for any concern.
The Al-Yaoum 24 news site reported that King Mohammed VI has ordered to transfer Benkirane to the military hospital to undergo comprehensive health examinations.
Last Wednesday, local media reported that Benkirane, 68, had tested positive to COVID- 19, despite receiving 3 doses of the anti-virus vaccine.
As of Tuesday evening, Morocco had recorded a total of 1.5 million infections with COVID- 19.
