Israel’s Army Radio reported this morning that the security intelligence service responsible for foreign operations, Mossad, is participating in investigations related to attempts to smuggle weapons across the Jordanian border, as well as in investigations into some attacks taking place in the occupied West Bank.

According to the radio station, the reason for Mossad’s intervention is Iran’s increasing involvement in attempts to smuggle weapons across the Jordanian border, as well as in directing attacks on the ground from the West Bank.

It noted that two unusual smuggling attempts of powerful explosives were recently thwarted, and an investigation is underway into whether Iran is behind them.

Typically, the Israeli General Security Agency (Shin Bet) is responsible for investigations regarding internal operations.
