The Swiss Ambassador to Libya, Joseph Ringli, has surrendered to the Libyan Ministry of Foreign Affairs a list of items, including antiquities belonging to the North African country, which were seized inside Switzerland, Libya Observer reports.

According to the report, this was announced in a government statement quoting the Director of the Antiquities Department, Muhammad Faraj.

The report says Faraj confirmed that appointments have been set with the Libyan embassy in Bern to hand over the artifacts in an official ceremony, in preparation for transferring them to Tripoli.

The Deputy Head of the Presidential Council, Abdullah Al-Lafi, reviewed earlier with the Swiss Ambassador the international and local efforts related to the humanitarian situation in Derna, and the rest of the cities of eastern Libya affected by floods, according to the media office of the Presidential Council, the report added.
