Israeli ground forces have conducted a “targeted raid” with tanks entering the besieged Gaza Strip overnight, the military said in a statement, attacking multiple areas before withdrawing, the Independent reported.

Videos of the overnight operation showed a bulldozer levelling part of a raised bank and tanks firing shells, while explosions were seen near or amid a row of damaged buildings.

Israel has yet to launch its ground offensive in Gaza, bombing the besieged enclave and killing thousands of civilians through the targeting of residential buildings while residents are inside.
