Israel yesterday labelled Al-Qastal News, based in Jerusalem, as a “terrorist organisation”, thus banning its operation.

In a statement, the news site expressed “its denunciation and condemnation of this decision, which comes as part of a campaign targeting the Palestinian media in all ways.”

It reaffirmed that it is “an independent, licensed network that operates in accordance with the regulations of free journalistic work and does not belong to anyone or be affiliated with any party.”

Israel’s decision, it added, is part of the occupation’s efforts to “silence the Palestinian media and prevent it from exposing occupation’s crimes in Palestine.”

Opposing the decision, it vowed to “continue its work and responsibilities in covering Palestinian news, especially from the occupied Jerusalem,” declaring that it would “not be prevented by the unjust decisions issued by the occupying authority.”
