The Lebanese Hezbollah group on Friday announced that two more of its fighters were killed in clashes with Israeli forces, Anadolu news agency reported.

In two separate statements, the group identified the two fighters as Abbas Hammoud and Fadel Noureddine, saying they were killed “on the road to Jerusalem,” in reference to the Hezbollah fight in support of the Palestinian resistance facing the Israeli devastating onslaught in Gaza.

The new fatality brings the total number of Hezbollah fighters killed in combat with Israeli forces since 8 October 2023 to 379, according to an Anadolu tally.

Fears have grown about a full-blown war between Israel and the Lebanese resistance group amid an exchange of cross-border attacks between the two sides.

The escalation comes against the backdrop of a deadly Israeli onslaught on Gaza, which has killed nearly 39,200 Palestinians since October and injured over 90,400 more.
