Turkiye continues to be a top destination for international travellers, with German tourists leading the influx last month.

According to the latest data published by TUIK (Turkish Statistical Institution), over 1 million German visitors arrived in Turkiye, making them the largest group among the over 1 million arrivals. This strong showing highlights the enduring appeal of Turkiye’s rich cultural heritage, stunning landscapes, and favourable climate for German vacationers.

Following Germany, Russia ranked second with approximately 922,000 arrivals, while the United Kingdom secured the third spot with 660,906 visitors. These figures underscore the broad appeal of Turkiye across different European markets, especially during the summer season when the country’s beaches, historical sites and vibrant cities draw large crowds.

The significant number of tourists from these countries has had a positive impact on Turkiye’s tourism sector, a vital component of the national economy. The influx of visitors has boosted revenues for hotels, restaurants and other related industries, contributing to economic growth and job creation in the country.

Turkiye’s tourism industry, which has been recovering steadily following the pandemic, is poised for a strong year, with these figures reflecting the success of its efforts to attract visitors from key markets. The country’s strategic location, combined with its diverse attractions, continues to make it a favoured destination for travellers from around the world. As the peak travel season progresses, Turkiye is expected to maintain its position as a leading global tourist hotspot.
