The Kamal Adwan and Indonesian Hospitals in northern Gaza warned on Monday that they would stop functioning within 48 hours due to the lack of fuel, the Palestinian Information Centre has reported.
According to the Director of the Indonesian Hospital, Marwan Al-Sultan, its ICU has reached its full capacity and is crammed with patients in critical condition. Furthermore, 10 other patients are being kept alive on artificial respirators.
He said that the operating theatres are working around the clock due to the ongoing Israeli bombing and the growing number of wounded, warning that Israel’s continued blockage of the entry of fuel would lead to the death of many patients.
The Kamal Adwan Hospital is in the same critical position concerning the acute shortage of fuel and medical consumables. It warned in a terse statement that such a situation endangers the lives of many patients.
