Gaza’s civil defence service said that one of its members was killed in an Israeli air strike on its headquarters in the central area of Gaza City on Tuesday afternoon. His son and another worker were wounded in the attack, the Palestinian Information Centre has reported.

The dead man was named as Najeeb Sokkar. He was preparing food for his son Mohamed when the air strike happened.

The Israeli occupation army carried out an air strike on the same fire station in September. Four civil defence workers were injured in that attack. A recent similar attack on another civil defence centre in Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza killed four employees.
