Egypt’s Ministry of Sports has decided to ban Kung Fu Champion Mohammad Yousuf from representing Egypt in the next round of international events after he made a gesture with four fingers symbolising support for the Rabaa Al-Adawiyya while receiving the gold medal at the World Championship in Saint Petersburg, Russia on Friday.

By wearing a T-shirt bearing Rabaa Al Adawiyya’ symbol, the champion signalled clear support of pro- Morsi supporters who died during a military operation in august. The champion won his final Sanda competition against Iranian player Arman Paziari with score 0 /2.

Egyptian Kung Fu Association said Yusuf will be investigated immediately, as the Association refuses to involve sports with politics in light of Egypt’s current political turmoil.
