Egyptian Kung Fu champion banned for displaying Rabaa symbol

Egypt's Ministry of Sports has decided to ban Kung Fu Champion Mohammad Yousuf from representing Egypt in the next round of international events after he made a gesture with four fingers symbolising support for the Rabaa Al-Adawiyya while receiving the gold medal at the World Championship in Saint Petersburg, Russia on Friday.

By wearing a T-shirt bearing Rabaa Al Adawiyya' symbol, the champion signalled clear support of pro- Morsi supporters who died during a military operation in august. The champion won his final Sanda competition against Iranian player Arman Paziari with score 0 /2.

Egyptian Kung Fu Association said Yusuf will be investigated immediately, as the Association refuses to involve sports with politics in light of Egypt's current political turmoil.
