Israeli army seals Palestinian town following fatal attack in Jerusalem

The Israeli army has sealed all entrances and exits to the town of Qabatiya in the northern West Bank after three of its residents carried out an attack in Jerusalem earlier in the day.

Israel’s Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper reported that following the attack, Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held a meeting of security chiefs in his office. The meeting was attended by Defence Minister Moshe Ya’alon, Public Security Minister Gilad Erdan, Police Commissioner Roni Alsheich, IDF Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Gadi Eisenkot and a senior Shin Bet officer.

On Wednesday, three Palestinian men attacked Israeli border guards near Damascus Gate in the old city of Jerusalem, killing one guard.
