One person was killed in a drone strike launched by Israel in Sinai’s Rafah on Monday, in response to a Grad rocket that Daesh launched from the peninsula towards settlements in the Eshkol region of Israel on the same day.

As a result of the Israeli strike, in which missiles were launched at a house and vehicle, one person was killed and several others injured south of the city of Rafah in Sinai.

Israel, who feared an imminent attack, closed its border moments before the Grad rocket hit Eshkol. Israelis were barred from crossing at the Taba border into Egypt following an alert about the attack.

A day earlier Daesh orchestrated a twin bomb attack on churches in the Egyptian cities of Alexandria and Tanta that killed almost 50 people.
