The main aim of his visit is to support the Tour n’ Cure campaign which works to cure patients with hepatitis C.

In February, Argentinian football player Lionel Messi also visited Egypt to promote the campaign.

This is the Ronaldinho’s third visit to the African country; he previously came to the country in 1997 and 2007.

The World Health Organisation has commended Egypt on its success in getting the necessary medication to those in need.
