Qatar calls on Palestinians to apply for teaching jobs

In cooperation with the Palestinian ministry the Qatari education ministry has renewed its call on Palestinians to apply to work as teachers in Qatar, Al-Resalah reported yesterday.

In November the Palestinian and Qatari education ministers signed an agreement for cooperation in education, training and other issues related to school and university education.

Applicants who meet the requirements would start work in the next school year in several government schools in Qatar.

The call was aimed at males who want to teach in primary, prep and secondary schools.

Last year Qatar employed a number of Palestinians and liaised with Israeli authorities to allow Palestinians from Gaza to leave through the Eretz Crossing.

Applicants from Gaza who are blacklisted by Israel were advised not to travel, fearing arrest at the Eretz Crossing.
