The Baghdad Central Criminal Court has sentenced four foreign women to death and three more to life imprisonment for belonging to Daesh, the Iraqi Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) said.
In a statement the council said that the Criminal Court sentenced with the death penalty three women from Azerbaijan and one from Kyrgyzstan to death over links with Daesh.
The statement added that the court handed life terms to a French woman and two Russian women.

No details were given regarding the exact charges against the women.
It is estimated that Iraq has detained more than 1,400 foreign women and children suspected of being members of Daesh and is holding them in a camp in the north of the country.
