Social media users scoffed at Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi over remarks he made using the Kiki challenge as a way to urge Oil Minister Tariq Al-Molla to increase gas prices in the country.

In a video that made rounds on social media, Al-Sisi jokingly commented on the Kiki dance challenge currently sweeping the country, telling the minister to continue raising fuel prices.

“Mr. Tariq, just raise the fuel prices minister and don’t worry,” Al-Sisi said during the sixth National Youth Conference held at Cairo University.

Fuel prices have been raised three times in the country since 2016, increasing 260 per cent.
