A member of the Hezbollah Political Council has vowed that resistance against Israel will continue, stating that the Israeli occupation forces will face a serious defeat if they launch a ground invasion into Lebanon. Mahmoud Qomati told Al Mayadeen that southern Lebanon “will become a graveyard for the occupation forces,” stressing Hezbollah’s preparedness with a vast arsenal of weapons and trained fighters.

Qomati warned further that Hezbollah’s allies in the Axis of Resistance “will intervene if the battle expands.” He reaffirmed Hezbollah’s unwavering support for Gaza, stating that no conditions would be accepted before a ceasefire and that no initiative would be considered until that happened.

He also said the resistance was rebuilt immediately following the assassination of Hezbollah Secretary-General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah. The resistance leader’s legacy is well-maintained, he said, adding, “His trust is in our hands and will remain so with every leader and fighter.”

Yesterday, Hezbollah’s Deputy Secretary-General Sheikh Naim Qassem insisted in a televised speech that the Israeli occupation “will not achieve its goals” and that the resistance remains “strong and unified.” Qassem also announced that a new secretary-general will be elected soon.

Hezbollah MP Hassan Fadlallah added that the resolve of the resistance remains high despite Israeli threats. “The community surrounding the resistance is magnificent and unbreakable,” he insisted.

With growing tensions in the region, and major structural and strategic setbacks, Hezbollah maintains that its fighters are prepared to defend Lebanon. “Our battle is to prevent the enemy from achieving its goals.” The resistance movement’s focus remains on countering Israeli aggression against Lebanon and the Palestinian people.
