Hezbollah leader Nasrallah mourned across Middle East

From Beirut to Basra and the West Bank, mourners from across the Middle East gathered to show their anger at the killing of resistance leader Hassan Nasrallah. The former Hezbollah chief was killed in a southern suburb of Beirut, aged 64, after Israeli bunker buster bombs pounded a residential area on Friday 27 September. Nasrallah was the general secretary of Hezbollah for over 30 years and will be remembered for turning a local Shia militia from southern Lebanon into a considerable political and military force in the region. Born close to Beirut, Nasrallah joined the newly formed Hezbollah to resist Israel's 1982 invasion of Lebanon and 20 year occupation in the south, and would spent the rest of his life actively resisting Israeli military aggression in the Levant.
