Israeli-made robot to serve in military

Israel has developed a military robot to send into combat along with its troops on the Gaza Strip border, Yisrael Hayom reported today quoting an official source.

The robot will have the ability to break through underground tunnels and buildings.

According to the source, the robot will carry out security patrols along the Gaza-Israel border, as well as entering “dangerous places”.

The robot, which is controlled remotely will be equipped with weapons, cameras and microphones. It has been designed to access rugged areas.

Last year, Israel’s Ynetnews revealed that a robot named Dogo would be added to the army’s infantry to reduce risk taken by personnel.
