US Ambassador to the United Nations, Nikki Haley, said in an interview with CBN that the US embassy should be moved from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem because the city is the capital of Israel.

I don’t know what the policy of the administration is, but I believe the Western Wall is part of Israel and I think that that is how we’ve always seen it and that’s how we should pursue it… We’ve always thought the Western Wall was part of Israel

Haley was quoted as saying.

“The tricky part is where the Palestinians come in on this and where the Israelis comes in on this,” she added.

On Monday, Israeli TV reported a US official who is making preparations for President Donald Trump’s visit to the Middle East next week rejected a request that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu accompany Trump when he visits the Western Wall saying it is “not your territory. It’s part of the West Bank”.

The Israeli government demanded an explanation from the White House, which cast a shadow over the president’s visit.

Trump is due to visit Israel and the West Bank on 22-23 May after a trip to Saudi Arabia. He is due to visit Brussels and the Vatican after leaving the Middle East.
