Sercan Çalışkan

Sercan Caliskan graduated from Istanbul University and completed his master’s degree at Alparslan Security Sciences Institute at the Turkish National Defence University. He is preparing his PhD thesis in the International Security Programme at the Turkish Police Academy. He is currently the Iraq Studies Researcher at the Centre for Middle Eastern Studies (ORSAM) in Ankara. His commentaries and opinion pieces have been published in international media outlets including The Diplomat and Geopolitical Monitor. He carried out field studies in six of Iraq’s governorates and followed the 2021 Iraq election as an international observer. His X account is @SrcnClskan
