The Cairo Criminal Court on Thursday postponed the trial of ousted Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi and 24 others, including lawyers, activists and Muslim Brotherhood members, over charges of insulting the Egyptian judiciary until 12 March, a judicial source said.
The judicial source requested anonymity and gave no further details.
The Court’s chairman has banned the entry of all journalists without giving reasons behind the decision.
Morsi is accused of insulting the Egyptian judiciary, including insulting Judge Ali Mohamed Ahmed el- Nemr during his presidential address on 26 June 2013.
On Thursday evening, the Cairo Criminal Court also postponed the trial of Morsi and ten others in the “espionage case” until 23 February.
Morsi is accused of leaking confidential national security documents to the Qatari intelligence apparatus with the aim of “harming Egypt’s military and diplomatic status and national interests”.
Morsi is currently facing trial in five cases.
