The Specialised Criminal Court in Riyadh postponed, on Tuesday, the trial of Islamic cleric Salman Al-Ouda to next Monday for reasons it described as “an extra period of time to complete some of the procedures.”
Prisoners of Conscience Twitter account said in a Tweet that “The Specialised Criminal Terrorism Court has delayed the hearing of the trial of Sheikh Salman Al-Ouda to next Monday morning after the prosecution requested what it called an extra period of time to complete some procedures.”

The same account said in a previous tweet that “Al-Ouda is at risk of being sentenced to death for 37 false charges.”

The Specialized Criminal Court has accused Sheikh Al-Ouda with 37 terrorism-related charges, while the prosecution demanded a Discretionary Penalty against him.
Sheikh Al-Ouda was arrested in early September last year as part of a series of arrests that included prominent Saudi clerics and thinkers.
Sheikh Al-Ouda has been suffering from deteriorating health conditions during his detention that has been ongoing for more than a year, which he started at Dhahban Political Prison in Jeddah before being transferred to Al-Ha’ir Prison in Riyadh.
