On Tuesday, students in several Algerian states participated in their second march in Ramadan under the slogan “Fasters or non-Fasters, Every Tuesday We Will be Protesters “, stressing that they will continue their protests until the fulfilment of all their demands, especially the overthrow of the regime’s symbolic figures.

The students organized several marches throughout several streets in the capital Algiers, carrying banners that expressed their rejection of the interim president Abdelkader Bensalah, and the elections scheduled for 4 July, according to the Algerian newspaper El Bilad.

The protesters chanted slogans such as “Conscious students rejecting the regime”, “We are students and we will not be defeated”, “Peaceful peaceful protest and legitimate demands”, “students are the soldiers of liberation “, “Conscious students rejecting the gang”, “no elections under gangs’ rule”, as well as other slogans voicing their demands to overthrow all prominent figures of Bouteflika’s regime.

Students have also carried out marches in other cities, during which they stressed their continuing protest every Tuesday despite fasting and heat until the regime is changed, the harmful figures are gone, and the judiciary becomes totally independent.

It is noteworthy that the majority of the opposition groups in Algeria expressed their refusal to hold the presidential elections in July, on the pretext of the lack of appropriate conditions, and in rejection of their supervision by figures from Bouteflika’s regime.

Abdelkader Bensalah, Bedoui, and members of the government are facing a widespread popular rejection, as they are part of the regime of ousted President Abdelaziz Bouteflika.
