Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar has always been part of the decision-making process in the Gaza ceasefire talks through secure communications, the group’s spokesman Osama Hamdan has told Reuters.
Hamdan added that Sinwar blessed the negotiation process, noting that, “Due to security conditions, communications with and by Sinwar have secure mechanisms in place, and are operating smoothly.”
The movement’s spokesman also took the opportunity to criticise US Secretary of State Antony Blinken’s announcement that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had accepted an updated proposal for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
The announcement was “very ambiguous” because it was “not what was presented to us nor what we agreed on,” insisted Hamdan.
