Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on Monday evening that it has formally asked the International Criminal Court’s Appeals Division to exclude Prosecutor Karim Khan from any involvement in cases related to Israel.

The request also calls on the court to cancel arrest warrants issued by Khan against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defence Minister Yoav Galant.

In a full statement, the Ministry said: “The request was submitted following serious information and publications that raise serious concerns that the Prosecutor acted with improper personal motives to promote false and unfounded allegations against Israel.”
