The Ministry of Social Development in the Gaza Strip warned on Sunday about attempts to collect fake personal data from citizens, stressing that it has not authorised any organisation or association to collect citizens’ data in coordination with it.

In a statement published by the Government Media Office, the ministry said that any link or call claiming cooperation with the ministry, without an official announcement from it, should be considered unreliable. It urged citizens to be cautious and not to follow such links.

The ministry stressed the need to rely only on information issued by official sources, in order to protect the security and privacy of citizens’ personal data.

It also confirmed that it will announce any official initiatives or procedures only through its authorised channels, calling on citizens to follow its official statements and avoid dealing with any unofficial sources.

Meanwhile, the death toll from the Israeli occupation’s assault on the Gaza Strip has risen to 71,412 people, with 171,314 injured, since 7 October 2023. A number of victims remain under the rubble and on roads.

Since the ceasefire came into effect on 10 October last year, 442 people have been killed and 1,236 injured, while 688 bodies have been recovered.
