The Popular Conference for Palestinians Abroad has expressed its profound dismay and unequivocal rejection of the decision issued by the United States Department of the Treasury on 21 January 2026, to include it under the so-called “terrorism lists”.

A press statement by the body said it: “Affirms that this decision constitutes a unilateral administrative measure that is not based on any judicial ruling or binding international resolution. It does not, in any way, alter the legitimacy of the Conference’s lawful national and popular work, which is carried out in full compliance with the legal frameworks of the countries in which it operates.”

The statement further added that; “this decision as part of a continued pattern of political targeting against Palestinian structures and organisations operating abroad, particularly in the wake of the growing international solidarity with the Palestinian people amid the ongoing genocidal war on Gaza.”

The Conference reiterated its commitment to continuing its peaceful, rights based and lawful activities with steadfastness and responsibility, affirming that Palestine will remain its moral and political compass, and that attempts at distortion and defamation will not undermine the justice of the Palestinian cause.
