Saudi Arabia has launched a central kitchen in the Gaza Strip that will produce more than 24,000 hot meals every day.

The Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported that the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre, also known as KSrelief, opened the kitchen as part of a Saudi public campaign to support the Palestinian people in Gaza, in cooperation with the Saudi Centre for Culture and Heritage.

The project aims to produce 24,000 meals daily starting from Ramadan, with a total of 3.6 million meals planned. These will be provided to displaced and affected families in Deir al-Balah in central Gaza and Al-Qarara in the south.

The project also aims to employ local resources within the Strip, providing jobs for around 40 workers, helping to improve incomes for affected families.

Donors can support the initiative to help Palestinians, strengthen solidarity, and ensure the kitchen continues operating after the project ends.

Abdullah Al-Rabeeah, the general supervisor of KSrelief, and adviser at the Royal Court, described the humanitarian crisis in Gaza as one of the largest in human history.

He said over 90 per cent of the population in Gaza is living in poverty due to shortages of water, food, and medicine.

Al-Rabeeah also highlighted that the central kitchen is one of the largest projects dedicated to serving displaced families in the Strip.
