Lebanon’s Hezbollah group said it carried out 23 drone and rocket attacks on Israeli military sites and bases in northern and central Israel on Wednesday. It also reported clashes with Israeli forces who it said were attempting to advance towards the southern Lebanese town of Khiam.
In a series of statements issued since early Wednesday, the group said the attacks were part of an escalation that began with Israel at dawn on Monday.
Hezbollah said its operations were “in response to the criminal Israeli aggression targeting dozens of Lebanese cities and towns, including Beirut’s southern suburbs”.
In its latest statement, the group said it had targeted a military industries complex belonging to the Israeli company Rafael, south of the occupied city of Acre, using a swarm of attack drones.
It also said it struck the Ein Zeitim base, described as the headquarters of a brigade command, north of the city of Safed, with a swarm of attack drones.
