Hebrew media reported on Monday that Iran has set five conditions to agree a deal with the United States to end the war that has been ongoing since late February.

According to Channel 12, Iran has outlined a set of strict official demands to end the conflict, as part of indirect talks announced by US President Donald Trump.

The report said Iranian officials are seeking firm guarantees that fighting will not resume. They also want a new arrangement for the Strait of Hormuz that would effectively place it under Iranian control.

Iran is also calling for the closure of US military bases across the region, as well as financial compensation for damage suffered during the war.

Earlier on Monday, Trump said Washington had been negotiating with Iran for some time and that “this time, they are serious”.

Speaking at an event in Tennessee, he added: “This is thanks to the outstanding performance of our military.” He continued: “We hope an agreement can be reached, but whatever happens, we will ensure that Iran never obtains a nuclear weapon.”

Trump concluded: “Iran now has one more opportunity to end its threats to America and our allies, and we hope it takes it. In any case, America and the whole world will become safer, and our planet will be more stable.”
