Israeli settlers set fire to a vehicle and attempted to burn down a mosque in the village of Burqa, east of Ramallah, on Sunday evening.
The Palestinian news agency WAFA reported that a group of settlers attacked the village and set fire to a vehicle parked near Al-Nour Mosque, causing material damage.
The head of Burqa Village Council said the settlers broke the mosque’s doors and set fire to its entrance in an attempt to burn it down. Residents managed to extinguish the flames before they spread inside the building, while the settlers fled the area.
The attack comes shortly after another attack carried out by settlers on the town of Deir Dibwan, east of Ramallah, where two vehicles were set on fire and two others were vandalised.
The incidents are part of a series of escalating attacks targeting Palestinian residents and their property in the area.
