Israel issues 800 al-Aqsa expulsion orders since start of 2026

The Jerusalem Governorate said on Sunday that the number of Israeli expulsion orders from Al-Aqsa Mosque recorded since the start of 2026 had risen to 800, after around 15 orders were documented during the first six days of September.

In a statement, the governorate said the number of orders recorded in the first six days of September was close to the combined total recorded in July and August, which stood at 23.

It said Israeli authorities issued 17 expulsion orders in July and six in August.

The governorate said the figures “reflect an acceleration in the use of the expulsion policy ahead of the Jewish holiday season”, which runs from mid-September to early October.

According to the governorate, 785 expulsion orders had been recorded from the start of the year to the end of August, including 762 during the first half of the year. Most were issued in connection with Al-Aqsa Mosque, particularly before and during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.

The new orders recorded in September brought the total number documented since the start of the year to 800, it added.

The governorate stressed that the figures do not necessarily represent the total number of Israeli expulsion orders issued, but only cases it was able to monitor and document.
