Saudi authorities issued alerts Tuesday warning of a “potential danger” in the southwestern cities of Abha and Khamis Mushait amid escalating Houthi attacks from neighboring Yemen, Anadolu reports.
The Saudi Civil Defense urged residents to “immediately proceed to the nearest safe place (inside a building or an interior room away from windows) and stay there until the danger has passed,” according to a statement on US social media platform X.
The warnings came as escalating fighting in Yemen increasingly spilled into neighboring Saudi Arabia.
Earlier Tuesday, Riyadh said Houthi attacks targeting civilian and economic sites in the southwestern cities of Abha, Khamis Mushait, Jazan and Najran had injured 73 civilians, including women and children.
