Araghchi urges Washington to break free from Israeli lobby, calls Netanyahu a “snake”

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said the Israeli lobby was becoming increasingly open about its role and influence over US policy towards Iran, urging Washington to “break free” from its constraints.

Araghchi made the comments in response to an article published by the Israel Hayom newspaper, noting that the newspaper is owned by Miriam Adelson, the spokesperson for this lobby.

“The Israel lobby is getting less shy about its grip on US policy toward Iran. In Miriam Adelson’s publication, the Lobby’s loudspeaker says US policy must ensure America pays a price for any slight against Israel,” Araghchi said on X.

He added: “High time for Washington to break free from these shackles.”

Araghchi also accused Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of deceiving US President Donald Trump in drawing the United States into a war with Iran.

“When Netanyahu speaks in Hebrew, he proudly says that he tricked the US government and led it into war with Iran on behalf of Israel,” Araghchi said, adding that Netanyahu had spoken openly and mockingly about influencing US thinking and policy through thousands of hours of appearances on American television networks.

“When he speaks English, he praises the US president’s leadership,” he added.

Araghchi also described Netanyahu as a “snake.”
