Pezeshkian says US will ‘only see Iran’s fall in its dreams’

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said on Sunday that the United States would not succeed in bringing about Iran’s collapse, arguing that national unity would allow the country to withstand mounting external pressure.

Pezeshkian said Washington and Israel had underestimated the resilience of the Iranian population and had expected pressure on the country to trigger internal instability.

“The United States will only see Iran’s fall in its dreams,” Pezeshkian said, according to Iranian media.

He argued that Iran would not yield to external pressure and described unity among Iranians as essential to confronting the political, economic and military challenges facing the country.

The Iranian president also sharply criticized US President Donald Trump, accusing his administration of disregarding international law and human rights.

Pezeshkian further accused Trump of threatening the Iranian population with what he characterized as “genocide.”
