A senior Saudi official has denied reports that Saudi and Israeli officials held a meeting in the United Arab Emirates, Reuters reported.
On Monday, Israeli Channel 14 reported, citing a senior Emirati source, that Saudi representatives joined an expanded meeting after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed.
The source said Netanyahu had initiated the meeting. Its first part was attended by the two leaders and Israeli and Emirati representatives, while representatives from other Arab countries, including Saudi Arabia, joined the second part.

The meeting discussed security cooperation, including defence systems such as Iron Dome, the war with Iran and the Houthis, and the formation of a regional alliance, the source said.
The channel said Israel’s ambassador to the UAE, Yossi Shelley, was responsible for promoting the effort on the Israeli side.
