Yemen’s Aden security administration said Aden International Airport was targeted by two missiles fired by the Houthi group early on Wednesday, with no casualties reported.

In a statement, the administration said the attack targeted a vital civilian facility and put the lives of passengers, workers and flight crews at risk. It said relevant authorities had begun taking the necessary measures to deal with the aftermath, while strengthening security and preventive measures at and around the airport.

The statement said Aden airport serves as an air gateway for people from various parts of Yemen, particularly patients and those travelling for medical treatment, as well as students, workers and other travellers.

It said the attack threatened the safety of civilians, passengers, workers and flight crews, and put civil aviation at risk.

The administration urged media outlets and social media users to verify information and rely on official sources for updates on security measures and airport operations, and to avoid spreading rumours and unverified information.
