Saudi Arabia is disappointed by the limited support it is receiving from its Western allies amid escalating tensions in Yemen, Bloomberg reported on Sunday, citing informed sources.

“Riyadh’s disappointment is growing over the limited assistance provided by its Western allies,” the sources said.

Britain has supplied Saudi Arabia with a tanker aircraft, Bloomberg reported, adding that other Saudi requests for additional defence support, submitted in recent weeks, have yet to be approved.

Earlier this month, Axios reported that US President Donald Trump had rejected requests from Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud to launch strikes against Yemen’s Houthis.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has previously reaffirmed Washington’s commitment to its mutual defence agreement with Saudi Arabia, saying the United States intends to fulfill all its obligations to the kingdom.
